Do you find it easy to talk in small groups, but as soon as you stand in front of an audience, your heart starts to race? Do you want to step onto the stage – yet it feels as if an invisible wall stands between you and the others?

In Rudi Strahl’s Speaker Club, you’ll find the perfect space to practice – without fear, without pressure, but with lots of fun and support.
Because here, it’s not about being perfect – it’s about having the courage to speak.

 Why this Speaker Club?

Rudi Strahl, Kabarettist and born stage performer, grew up as the child of an innkeeper in Tyrol, at over 2,000 meters above sea level.

Even as a six-year-old boy, he didn’t obediently stay behind the bar – no, he strutted up and down the guest room like a showmaster on a mission. While other children his age played with marbles or dolls, he served up jokes, faces, and stories – between bacon dumplings, sauerkraut, and wheat beer.

And when his mother called out, “Now be quiet for once – and stop putting yourself in the spotlight all the time!”, that was his cue for showtime. That was the starting signal – he turned it up. The inn became his personal cabaret stage – and every guest his audience. And behold: even the grumpiest guest, arms crossed and dumpling stuck in his throat, suddenly grinned like at a Sunday morning beer session after the third pint. The boy? A force of nature in a black shirt and red suspenders – small, loud, and above all, impossible to ignore.

But life isn’t always a laugh.

In Rudi Strahl’s own words: “After a severe pancreatic illness in 2007, I suffered from intense pain with every bite of food for two years. My body recovered, but those pains left a psychological change and great fear within me. I was suddenly blocked. I withdrew – from crowds, from cafés, and most of all, I no longer dared to go on stage. It was as if there were an invisible glass wall between me and the rest of the world. And I just couldn’t get through it.”

“During that time, I realized it wasn’t that I had become silent. It was that I was holding myself back. I was deeply afraid to say the things that truly mattered to me. Not because I had nothing left to say, but because I no longer dared, as I once had, to speak in front of others. Many people experience that. They intimidate themselves and keep their ideas – and, most importantly, their lives – to themselves.”

And that realization was the spark that led Rudi to found his Speaker Club, to give others the chance to step onto the stage.
